<BGSOUND SRC="thingudo.mid" LOOP=INFINITE> I do hope you have enjoyed the last page, and I am very happy you have decided to continue on into my haven. You are most welcome here, and it is my wish that you enjoy this page as well. I have been thoroughly engrossed in making this website. It seems I shall never be quite finished. Indeed, just as I do in my garden, I am ever changing things around and adding new and interesting items. It is a labour of love~~and I, being somewhat of a perfectionist, am never truly happy with the results, though I must admit, I am quite proud of them.. Here is the download for the Shelley Volante true type font, in case you missed it on the first page. My pages were created using that particular font, and I should love to have my visitor's view it as I do! *smile*

For twas not into my ears you whispered,
but my heart..
Twas not my lips you kissed,
but my soul...
Judy Garland

O ver the year or so that I had an avid interest in chatting online I had the pleasure of meeting many friends. A few of those people became very special to me. I hadn't met any of them personally but felt deeply connected to them~~some more than others. Words are extremely powerful, and here, online, one can bare their soul...let down their guard, and feel completely comfortable in being themselves. Here it is easy to look into another's soul..even without gazing into their eyes...

These pages are dedicated to two very special friends, both of whom I met online mid November 1997. Joey, one of the most charming and personable men I had known, brought a smile to my lips and a song to my heart each time I saw his name here~~I could not say enough good things about him...I did adore him so; and Tracy, whose marvelous sense of humour and sharp wit provoked much laughter from deep within me. I loved them both.

Joey, from California, and Tracy, from Vancouver, were the first people I met online. It was in a UK chatroom on AOL. I still recall the name of the room..Transatlantic 6. Those two left an indelible print on my heart that night. We became the closest of friends. Not one day would pass, during that year, where I would not think of either one, so deeply they had touched my soul.

We are, each of us,
Angels with one wing..
And we can only fly
By embracing one another
Lucian de Creszenza

Can miles truly separate us
from our friends?
If we want to be with someone we love
Are we not already there?

The Arrow And The Song
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For, so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.

I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For who has sight so keen and strong,
That he can follow the flight of song?

Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Lord, make me a channel of thy peace
That where there is hatred I may bring love,
That where there is wrong, I may
bring the spirit of forgiveness,
That where there is discord I may
bring harmony,
That where there is error I may
bring truth,
That where there is doubt I may
bring faith,
That where there is despair I may
bring hope,
That where there are shadows I may
bring thy light,
That where there is sadness I may
bring joy.
Lord, grant that I may
seek rather
To comfort~~than to be comforted;
To understand~~than to be understood;
To love~~than to be loved;
For it is by giving that one
receives;
It is by self-forgetting that one finds;
It is by forgiving that one is forgiven;
It is by dying that one awakens to
eternal life.
St. Francis of Assisi

....

I loved the idea that here, online, one had the opportunity to meet many people they otherwise would never have had the chance to meet. Many of my friends online...well, all of my friends online, with the exception of Tracy...lived in the United States. They were spread all over the states. Tracy lives in Canada, as do I...but still, at the opposite end of the country!

Three evenings a week, Tracy and I created a public members chatroom on AOL. This allowed others to join us and chat about nothing in particular. I was left, after each one of those chats, with the tightest stomach muscles due to much laughter!!
Dave, whom we met in chat one day, lived in Virginia with his two boys. Dave and I had long, meaningful chats and I did so enjoy them. He was a warm and wonderful soul with a big heart who deserves all the happiness in the world.
Ken, whom I met one day when I was minding my own business, was a charming and marvelous person. He was a perfect gentleman, very well versed and exceptionally eloquent. I enjoyed his company immensely. I would imagine that if one looked up the word 'gentleman' in the dictionary, Ken's picture would likely be there.. I thoroughly enjoyed my chats with him.
Paul, residing in New Hampshire, joined us one day and we remained good friends for the duration on my online chatting sessions. He was friendly and personable, and shared a lot of my interests. I loved his positive attitude and his wonderful sense of humour. I wish Paul every happiness.
Chad, lives in California, on his own. He was and likely still is a true ladies' man. Chad's friendly and charming nature drew me to him almost immediately. He always had a rose tucked into an instant message for me. I did enjoy his company very much.
LaDonna..what a wonderful name! I met LaDonna one day in the internet chatroom. It is a help room for AOL members where I went when I was exasperated with my homepage. LaDonna was in need of help that day and I was able to help her out. Since then, LaDonna has kept my mailbox full to overflowing with poems, jokes, and links!
Wally, a Florida friend, helped me out one day in the internet chatroom. His friendly, helpful nature impressed me so. He was a marvelous help to me regarding my homepage, and within the first few minutes of meeting him, even offered to convert some files for me. I am very grateful to him. Wally often dropped by to say hello to me each time he saw me online, and, I must mention, too, that he was the only person I know who called me 'kiddo'...and that warms my forty year old heart!
Joe lives in Illinois with his wife and two children. I met him the same day as Wally. Both he and Wally came to my aid via instant messages while in the internet help room. Joe told me that when he saw my name there, he felt compelled to help me, as his sister's name is Rose. He, too, offered to convert my files for me. I enjoyed his company very much. He is a caring, warm person..and made me smile so..
Teresa is a wonderful, personable soul from Tennessee, whom I had met through another friend here. Teresa and I had formed a wonderful friendship here. We had so very much in common and we are both true romantics. Teresa reminded me of Spring..fresh, cheerful, and warm.. In Teresa's own words, she and I are "Unforgettable Women"...the title of a book she would like us to co-author one day!
Joie was introduced to me about the time I met Teresa. Like Teresa, Joie shared a lot of my passions and was every bit a true romantic as we both are! Joie lives in Northern California with her little girl, Val. We became very good friends. She was warm and friendly and very caring. Like myself, she cared about even the smallest creature, and had a very keen perception about others. I enjoyed her company immensely.
I adored all of my online friends. Unfortunately, I am no longer in contact with any of them. It is very easy to become addicted to the internet..to chatting on the internet, to be more precise. It is addictive and dangerous. Dangerous in the sense that it can overtake you. It can ruin relationships and can mar one's sense of reality. True, the people one meets online are real enough but it is just too easy to get caught up in the excitement to the point where you are neglecting all that is real around you.
I enjoyed meeting all of the marvelous people I had the pleasure of knowing online. I do miss them all and they are often in my thoughts.

~~Love to all of my friends...

Laura's Midi HeavenThis music makes me extremely happy when I listen to it. It is entitled "That Thing You Do", from the movie of the same name. I loved the movie, as well! Look for it, along with 10,000 other midi files at Laura's Midi Heaven.

I have entitled the background set featured on this page "Florentine". Once I revamp all of the pages on my site to reflect my own work, I shall then put up a page of my background sets for your personal use.
